It's HOT!

I think it is 90 degrees out, and my school stuck us in a GYM- for a spirit assembly. How are we supposed to have spirit when we are all sweaty. But anyway, I won't go into that...

I finished my friend's Pittsburgh Penguin scarf! Finally, I think I told her I'd make her one during the 1st semester. And I finished it when there were less then 2 weeks of school left. Go me- But here's the picture, I totally need to make one for myself so when I go to the games.

I love pink too- That's my new pink dress from American Eagle. I love that store.

The next thing I'm knitting is a scarf for my cousin for Christmas- yes, remember, I'm knitting smart, for Christmas. It's a long- really thin, black fuzy scarf. I'll have pictures next time.

Am going to be knitting graduation gifts too- A hat for my good friend Nicole, and a scarf for Liz. Nicole's new school colours are Green- Yellow- & White... I hope I can make that work... When Liz's is easy, just blue and gold like our school is now.

Well That's all for now. Stay cool, hopefully I'll see someone at the pool! <<33

Knitting when it's warm...

So, I've still been busy knitting, even though it's nearing 80! Someone in my first period class today asked me when I was starting to decrease in my hat- "Carly, why are you knitting when it's basically summer?" Let's be honest, just cuz it's nearing 80, it doesn't mean I don't want to be close to my favorite wool! Well, just not as often on my skin. :) But I actually replyed with something else- I'm actually starting my Christmas presents! Last year my mother and I both started up knitting and crocheting in September/ October. So when we realized we could make a bunch of scarves for christmas, we loved it! An amazing gift anyone would love, easy, and a little bit cheaper then $20's for everyone. So crocheting is really fast, but knitting takes more time. I probably made 5 in the months of November and December, when my mom made about 20. Okay, so she didn't make 20, but she seemed to have another scarf done every day after work--- So time has past, and I'm knitting more and more, I now know hats and excetra, excetra. I was also reading one of my favorite books now, At Knit's End- by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. There was an entry of her saying she was up til midnight or 1 in the morning almost every christmas eve, just trying to finish that one hat, or that last sock for the morning. So, me- realizing I did the same for my aunt last year (I made her a beautiful blue scarf in one day- basically 5 hours or something, still a beginner)- I decided to start making those wonderful gifts now. I mean, I'm always looking for projects to do, why not put them to good use!? Now, I have succesfully made 2 hats, and in the process of thinking of graduation gifts now. So it's nice to have those ideas on the side, even though it is 80 degrees out. :D

Well, here are some pictures of all my lovely knitting- updated from the last viewing.

The Hacky Sack I gave to Taylor- I need to learn how to make them in the round so they look better, but still a good one for my first try.

Here's the Ipod Sock I made for my friend Emily- we're celebrating Memorial day with our friend Catherine too. I get earrings, and Catherine gets a headband (Emily ovoiusly gets the ipod sock). I know the "E" isn't the best, but i was kinda in a hurry. I'll get better at them- I want to personalize my christmas scarves- I hope I'll get better at it! :)
******~~~ I'll be teaching a class in November for teens or anyone who wants to learn- on ipod socks and scarves! You should come, but more details will come later, so no worries!~~***

Okay, here's my Aunt's hat- this is what it looked like Monday night- but now it is finished (as of 6th period today). :)

p.s. Still waiting to get more baby bamboo yarn to finish the baby blanket!

OH! here's the adorable pudge~ she's always trying to get with my yarn. She thinks it's her toy! Where did she get that from?? :)

Knit Knit, I finished? Now what?

Well, I have a lot of knitting projects everywhere, but these are the ones I collected for the photo frenzy-
This is a picture of the hat I finished in school today for my cousin Willy. He is joining the coast guard, and I know camo might not be the best way for people to see him, but I think it's still a nice hat. I'm not sure if it will completely fit him, but if it doesn't, I'll make a new one, I only used maybe half or less of the yarn-
Which brings me to the second picture with the same yarn. I'm attempting to make a hacky sack for the boyfriend. If I accomplish it, I'm sure he'll like it. By the way, he doesn't read this, so I'm not spoiling it for him, he'll be surprised.
And you see those needles I'm using for the camo hacky sack, those are the double points I'm going to use for my Aunt's hat (The nice blue green yarn is for the hat; they just scream my aunt).

I am making Christmas presents very early. But I think it's going really well- I've accomplished one. :) I know I know, praise the oh great thinking one.

And you see that sock yarn next to that blue green yarn~ yeah, I'm going to make an ipod cover for my friend with that, we're celebrating memorial day together, so is my other friend, but she wants a fabric headband, at least the last time I checked. Okay, which picture is left.

This is the one I work on when I'm really bored. It's a washcloth, cotton, yellow. Nice but not very fun to work on. It's a ribbing pattern- I wanted to try a seed stitch, but it just worked out ribbing, and I liked it, so I just kept with it. It's just kind of tiring to work on for a long time. But here's the wonderful picture anyway! And yes, you see two different needles, I'm using spare needles, I can't find their companions, so they become a pair. :)

Oh, I almost forgot! I have one more- it's this scarf, I've probably been working on it forever, but it's so soft and nice I want to finish it. I don't know when I will finally finish it, but when it is all done, it will be beautiful!

Oh my gosh, I'm just really forgetful, now, seriously, here's the last picture. This is just progress and desperation that I can't do anything else on my baby blanket(for my pregnant ballet teacher- if I haven't mentioned it.). I actually had to tink 5 rows. I messed up the pattern when I was watching Hello Dolly backstage. But I fixed it, and need one more skein of yarn to finish it off and send it through the mail!

There! All done with yarn and everything, by the way, STOP THE RAIN! :) Love the SUN! <<33

Hello Dolly over! Sleep??!

I haven't been on for a while because all I've been doing is Hello Dolly Hello Dolly Hello Dolly- If anyone saw it, did you like it?! I think it went really well and we had close to 3 sell out shows. That's pretty good if you ask me. Well, here are some pictures from the Cast party and such....

Now, back to my knitting life. I am out of the Baby Yarn!!! I want to get some this week sometime, hopefully my mother will let me drive there (to Bloomin' Yarns). That would be very exciting- I drove out there once, but now I'm getting better, so it would be less stressful for my mother and me for that matter. So here are the pictures of the blanket for those who have not yet seen it.
Now I must go and get better, I have a bit of a cold from the screaming and such at the cast party and show for four nights. But it was a good show, I'm going to go knit and watch a movie now though. <<33>
OH! p.s. May 19th is 1year and 6months for my boyfriend and I- and guess where he is taking me??? HE'S TAKING ME TO GO SEE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!! I have the best boyfriend :)
