Busy Again

I hate this. The 3rd week in and I know I won't be able to blog as much anymore. I'm blogging now because I want to, even though I know I have a lot of homework to do. I have readings and problems and papers and quizzes already. I don't know how it added up all so fast already, but it did. I've been focusing on my knitting.

I made this in 3 days. I must have become a tight knitter as well, because it's a tight snug. I'm thinking about giving it away and making a bigger one for myself. Yet I already know my fellow friends are going to want to go "incognito" with me, and I'll have so many of these wanting to be made.

This was an excellent distraction during my sick days. I really didn't want to do homework while I was sick. It's not like I took any days off because I was sick either. I really didn't need to. All I need are my tissues and lollipops and I'll be fine. I also had a mystery VICKS tissue present. I am investigating the suspects, but I have a feeling I know who the culprit is.

Any-hoo, I am finally feeling better. Last night I finally caved and bought some medicine. I was sad to not find any Daytime medicine, but the Nighttime meds matched my symptoms perfectly. I think it was just what I needed though. I was forced to go to bed. I couldn't have things left to do, I literally took the medicine and went to bed. It took a while to work for me to actually fall asleep, but I felt the affects of the no more stuffed up feeling. It was fabulous.

Moving on- I love flowers. It would be great if someone would buy me flowers, but I truly don't need that in order to have flowers in my room.

Some beautiful tulips last week. I love pink and just can't get enough of it.

Then some beautiful baby carnations for this week :). I love being able to buy myself flowers, it makes being at my desk just that much better.

Now lastly, before I get working on all my homework and some much needed laundry loads, my mother has been asking to see the drapes in my room. AND because I know she won't make her way up to my room when we're rushing off to our Eat'n Park breakfast dates, here is the picture.

OH, and before I forget, here is a picture of me and my awesome friend, Jordan. We went to the Mattress Factory for an AWESOME ball/dance.

Have a great week everyone!

Knitting Machine

I always have a habit of blogging a ton right after Christmas break. It's my catch up time on a lot of things. But, as I wait for my books to arrive so I can start studying my little bum off, I have been knitting away.

I finally finished Nicole's Squirrel Socks :)

She's kind of adorable. I'm so glad she loves them.

I have also just finished a hat for my cousin. He just recently moved to NYC (I'm sooo jealous!), and I found JUST the pattern for a hat for him on Ravelry.

It's a little tight because of my fair-isle. I really need to work on making my tension the same on fair-isle knitwear. I truly don't know how to do it any different though. I do it loose already! I'm going to keep trying.

Oh, and just because I made it right before I left to come downtown, and wanted to show it off, Raspberry Crumb Cake :)

Hope you all are enjoying the snow as much as I am. If not, enjoy your Sunday ;-)

Back at School

Oh my gosh, it feels like we just jumped back into a semester. It seriously goes so fast, you have no idea. I was in ballet today, during piles and I just realized that I have a year left. 3 semesters including this one. That is crazy to think of. Especially because I remember my freshman year being in the same ballet class and wondering how I made it into this college class. Just so excited to spread my wings down here.

I don't know if you knew, but we're pretty cool here at PPU. The staff just loves having inside jokes, and having a good time.

So many of my friends went back to school the week before I had training. And I think that would be too early to go back, but at the same time, I really missed my friends over break. These pictures just prove that.

We're just so damn cute! I just loved having a jam packed weekend of fun with everyone. I got a little knitting done, and not a ton of sleep, but totally enjoyed myself.

This weekend was a great time and it barely feels like we started classes, but I do know we started. It's that delayed reaction of realizing, but totally the realization of the time that has passed. Besides all the nonsense of time, I am glad to be back on campus. I've got my Judy-Mom brownies in hand and ready to take the semester by storm.

I'll post pictures of my knitting in a little bit, the squirrel socks are almost done!

Until next time,

Snowy Tuesday

Yeah yeah, I realize it is Wednesday, but yesterday was so fun. Look at the snow!!!

I get made fun of all the time from my friends that the snow is such a hassle I get asked, "are you happy?" and my answer is yes. I love this snow* it's gorgeous and so breath taking. Literally though, you know that feeling when you're going too fast down a hill when sled riding- it's so cold you can't breathe? It was that cold yesterday and it just makes me smile :D

Now another thing that makes me smile are these cookies my friend and I made yesterday.

The orange ones are GINGER mustaches, the turquoise ones are for MERMEN! Hahaha- and if you can see that white one with Xmas sprinkles on it, that's from Santa not cleaning off his mustache- hehehehe

Do you like my SALT 'N PEPPER STACHE!? Hahaha- these are so much fun.

Hope these were as enjoyable to witness as they were to make :)

AH- almost forgot. My mother wants to show off the XMAS tree-

Enjoy the SNOW*

Long Break

I am so excited that it has finally snowed. And how fitting that it has snowed on the day of the Winter Classic (GO RANGERS!). I remember last year watching the Winter Classic, and then 2 years before that my senior year of high school with the Pens playing- oh my gosh, just a great start off to the year to watch a hockey game outdoors. Next time the Penguins are in that, I'm totally going! :)

Now the reason I am calling this post Long Break is because I just feel lonely. I love living on campus and being able to see anyone whenever I want and it just really sucks having really good friends live so far away. My bestest friend in the entire world lives in Michigan and although I could drive, she could drive, we both have worrying mothers that would kill us if we took the car and drove that far away.

This break has allowed me to get a lot of knitting done though, not going to lie. I have gotten 1 complete Squirrel sock done for Nicole :) .

Aren't they GORGEOUS!? I know they're a little big for her, but she tells me she'll love them just the same :)

Now onto my baking. I started out with my mom's favorite Coffee Toffee Bars- she hogged them and we ate them all here. Next I made some very Christmasy Sugar Cookies, with a little help from a tall lad ;-) . And tonight I have made my chocolate craving of brownies. I must admit that I homemade the first two, but brownies I just can't make from scratch. I can never get them with enough chocolate, or enough moisture in them.

I even got the box with extra chocolate bits in it! And I could not resist, I had to have the first ones with ice cream :)

I thought about making these a little mine by doctoring them a little but I would just ruin them, haha-

Now you all must be wondering how I got these LOVELY pictures with a broken camera, well my Aunt and Uncle got me a new one! Here's a great picture of us by the tree :)

And lastly, a beautiful picture of my baby. She had to have a little photo shoot with the new camera ;-)
By the way, the blanket that my beautiful baby is on is that blanket my mother has been working on since I was 17. She didn't run out of yarn, she didn't finish it properly. We held it up Christmas night, or the day after and realized that she has been dropping stitches and the blanket is getting skinny. . . It totally fits my bed and Pudge loves her new thrown- haha

Until next time-
