1 month, 1 day

I'm doing a mini countdown until my birthday. The big, 21!

But let's share some lovely things during my procrastination to my studies of the week before Spring Break ;-)

AMC Best Picture Showcase:

Oh my gosh, I forget if I talked about it before, but I am a JUNKIE! MOVIE NERD, JUNKIE, ADDICT, whatever you want to call it, I am hooked to the movies everyone. This is my love. I love tea and knitting, but movies are always something that is happening in my life. They are fabulous.

ANYHOO, the event I went to was down at the Waterfront and we got to go see ALL the Best Picture nominations. It is so great, movies all day long! You feel like such a slug/loaf/lazy ass, but it is so worth it. You see beautiful, inspiring, lovely, great movies. These are the best of the best and you can tell when you watch it on the big screen. Oh my gosh, it was so good.

I'll try to rate the movies how I liked them; top being the best!
Midnight in Paris
War Horse
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Moneyball
The Help
Hugo
The Desendants
The Artist
The Tree of Life

Midnight in Pairs, it was magical. Sincerely, magical. A beautiful movie that I will own as soon as it comes out on DVD, if it isn't already.
War Horse, oh my gosh was this a movie so well done. The set, the costumes, the knitwear, the mustaches! Even the score was done beautiful, by John Williams of course.
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close was fantastic. People may think I have no heart for crying, and that may be true. But I was able to be captured by the movie. The little boy was wonderful in his role and his grandfather I loved even though he never spoke.
Moneyball is a baseball movie. But it has an econ major from Yale that is in it (Jonah Hill's character), then a hunk of a ball player turned GM (Brad Pitt), that bond in such a way in loving baseball, but also the statistics! It's a must see if you are a sports fan of any kind.
The Help, you all know is a great film. I am so proud of Octavia Spencer for winning Best Supporting Actress, her and Viola Davis both should have won. But Meryl took the win for Best Actress from Viola. Oh it was such a good movie though. Emma Stone deserves recognition as well- all of them. Beautiful movie.
HUGO- for some reason I totally thought was animated. It was in 3D when we watched it and it was awesome to have the theatre have snow through it. Honestly enjoyed that 3D film. It was the greatest 3D film I've ever seen. I see why it was Best Picture worthy.
The Descendants, it was a great film, but just not my absolute favorite. Clearly I am more in love with the others, but it was still a wonderful picture.
The Artist, the winner. I so enjoyed it while I was watching it but after comparing, I just realized how much more I love the other films. A silent picture and forcing me to focus is great, but I am already a movie lover. I focus on the film no matter what. I love the movies. I think it brought people back to really focusing on the film.
The Tree of Life- Oh how people have opinions of this film. I put it last because I enjoyed the others more, it was hard to follow and just not my favorite. It was a gorgeous and beautiful film, but just very hard to follow. As a movie junkie and lover, I completely see why it was nominated, but cannot have seen it winning the prize.

I watched the Oscars and I'm a little sad to see The Artist take the big win, but I understand. I just wanted Midnight in Paris to win so bad. Also, I was captured by War Horse- I had no idea that anyone could do a horse montage the way that they were able to.

Now here are some pics of us enjoying our lazy but so much fun AMC Best Picture Saturdays :)

That was the first week, and here's me with my residents from this week :)

Each week we felt so cool ( or at least I did ;-) ) with our "backstage passes" for the event. You are seriously there all day long. It's great. Oh I will continue to do that as long as I can. It's a great movie junkie release :)

Alright, enough procrastinating :-P

Have a great week everyone!

Burn Out

Just one more week until Spring Break. Just one more.

Everyone I've been talking to this week, they just keep telling me the same things that I'm feeling, "I can't keep focus. I'm so tired." I don't know what we've all done, but we're all clearly burned out.

I finished a tie in a day last week, I clearly wasn't tired last week ;-)

It's a power tie. So proud and can't wait to see my friend wearing it. He's a legit knitting supporter. His mother knits, and whenever he wears a sweater or anything made by her, I just go up to him and feel up his lovely knitwear ;-)

Just like last week, my flowers are fading fast. I'm going to have to buy some daisies this weekend so they'll last the full week. My beautiful tulips just aren't cutting it this week, they're gorgeous! They just died quickly.

See they really are great, just so springy and happy :)

I'm excited for this evening of fun with my lovely friend Jordan. We're gunna watch Sex & The City while having our favorite pizza from R&B's; feta, spinach, mushroom and artichoke hearts :) We're sooo living on the edge ;-) hehehe

Stay awake!! Spring break is almost here!!!

Oh February

I told you last time, I just get too busy. It stinks. I just want to be able to do everything I want and not worry about something else not getting done. Then here I go again, blogging when I should be studying. This always happens to me. I feel like a disc on repeat because I just never stop doing what I'm doing, and I seem to always say the same thing here.

Well I'll break it up and show you a picture of me and my gorgeous valentine.

We look good, don't we? ;-) Haha- we were celebrating anti valentines, on the day. I truly just think it's another day. If you want to embrace the holiday, go for it. Otherwise, it's truly just another day.

I got myself flowers again, just like I do every week.

And that's the anti. Just celebrating my friends. We started watching Die Hard when we got back. A bunch of my friends and I. Oh I forgot to mention, my beautiful twinkle lights died last week. Extremely upsetting, but I got the replacements yesterday. Best gift ever. :)

Have a good week everyone, I'll try to keep posting as often as I can.

It's a little slow on the knitting front, just because there's so much to do.
